The line’s third Meraviglia Plus-class ship will be its second LNG-powered vessel and first from the company to display hull art. Euribia will be introduced in Northern Europe, departing from Kiel, Germany, and heading to the Norwegian Fjords. Following Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, a third Excel-class ship will join Carnival Cruise Line — the historically named Carnival Jubilee. Currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, the LNG- (liquefied natural gas) powered vessel will homeport from Galveston, Texas, beginning in December. Carnival Cruise Line will continue its move toward bigger ships in 2023 with the unveiling of Carnival Jubilee — the third vessel in its new Excel-class series.

The extra space has allowed Silversea to expand its lineup of cabin categories on the ship, with more large suites. As is always the case with Silversea ships, every cabin on the ship will be a suite. However, Silversea fans will find new premium aft suites that include a massive 1,324-square-foot complex called the Otium Suite.

On the heels of its latest Norwegian Prima, the second in the namesake class — Norwegian Viva — will be unveiled in August. Viva will repeat Prima’s latest take on The Haven ship-within-a-ship complex, and feature a massive array of culinary offerings, a go-kart racetrack and more when it arrives in Miami. In addition to a dedicated forward-facing observation lounge with a bar and a coffee corner, there will be a separate lecture room, as well as a library, a shop and a lobby.

MSC Cruises Unveils Summer 2025 Sailings from U.S. Ports

Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly vacation or a romantic getaway, there’s a new cruise ship that will meet your needs. From the luxurious Regent Seven Seas Grandeur to the environmentally conscious MSC Euribia, each ship offers unique features and amenities that cater to different types of travelers. The much-anticipated, Icon of the Seas, already has some January and February dates sold out.

Dramatic new “Signature Spaces” offer carefully designed rooms with the idea that there’s a space on the ship for every mood and every purpose. While many apps at sea are still finding their footing, Royal Caribbean's delivers an experience that is seamless and fun. The modern spa is more than a place to relax; it’s a true escape, where the atmosphere and thermal suite complement state-of-the-art treatments. Norwegian Cruise Line has always recognized this in its Mandara Spa, which keeps getting better.

MSC Cruises wants the world to know that its 6,327-passenger MSC Euribia is environmentally focused. The ship’s hull is decorated with huge underwater scenes and includes the hashtag #SaveThe Sea. For more intimate surrounds, splurge on the exclusive MSC Yacht Club section of the ship for access to a dedicated sundeck and pool, restaurants, bars, and lounges. The ship debuts in June 2023 and will sail its first season in the Norwegian fjords. Silver Nova is the next step for luxury cruise line Silversea and the first of the new Evolution-class ships.

As Wave Season Concludes, Cruise Lines Continue to Celebrate Booking Wins

The included food options are tasty and satisfying, the drink packages remain reasonably priced and there’s nonstop entertainment and activities all day. Whether you’re with friends, a significant other or your family, you’re bound to have a good time, with minimum damage to your wallet. While there is not much information on dining venues, Chops Grille, will be one of the restaurants available. Deck plans show an eatery called Pearl Cafe, along with Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar. Izumi, RC’s Japanese specialty restaurant will be located in Central Park on Icon of the Seas, where you will be able to dine on a hibachi or get sushi.

Viking also has a new ocean ship coming in 2023 that is a sister to earlier vessels. Like Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Ascent also will offer a redesigned Rooftop Garden area with increased seating, new private nooks and two new floating pools cantilevered over the side of the ship. Known for its luxury focus, the 30-year-old brand has long operated some of the world's most elegant ships.

Preview: Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Aqua

The latest ship for the luxury line Silversea Cruises will be bigger than its predecessors and feature an all-new design — one that, notably, will be asymmetrical in many areas. That is, some of the vessel's most prominent spaces, including its main pool area, will feature layouts that are off-center in a way that is unusual for cruise ships. Norwegian Cruise Line has proved it’s the clear leader when it comes to solo travelers. Even better, Norwegian's ships offer an exclusive studio for solo guests, where passengers can chat, grab snacks and get to know one another. The line's not stopping there -- it's expanding the number of solo cabins across its entire fleet.

This year will be a big one for new cruise ships, though not as big as last year. The last of the popular Edge Class ships, Celebrity Ascent, will make its debut in December 2023. Expect to see features that were made popular on Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex, such as the Magic Carpet movable deck that does triple duty as a restaurant, a bar and an embarkation area. Highlights include another new Carnival cruise ship (with a roller coaster!); and multiple new ships from MSC Cruises, both in the mainstream and -- for the first time -- the luxury category. Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry.

One feature of Seabourn Pursuit that you'll only find on its sister expedition ship, Seabourn Venture, which debuts in 2022, are the two-story suites that have double height windows and telescopes for wildlife spotting. Everyone onboard can enjoy the Discovery Center and Expedition Lounge, where naturalists and expedition guides will give daily lectures, briefings and enrichment programs. On Seven Seas Grandeur, Regent is aiming to fight sister line Oceania's claim for top marks among foodies.

Solo cabins are available, as well as beds that reconfigure into a sofa for better use and more space on sea days. So, if you’re in the process of planning out your cruising itineraries for 2023, here are the new cruise ships you’ll want to check out. Gone are the days when a Pride Month advertisement and sparsely attended LGBTQ+ gathering were the norm. Virgin Voyages has blasted away the competition by providing a naturally inclusive cruise where LGBTQ+ people are visible from the moment you board. You'll find the latter openly dancing on dance floors, kissing and hugging in bars, and holding hands over dinner.

MSC Group is the parent company of MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys, as well as the Mediterranean Shipping Company. The latter, also known simply as MSC, is the largest container shipping company in the world. Classic Oceania eateries that will be on board the ship include the line's signature Polo Grill steakhouse, Italian-inspired Toscana and upscale Asian outlet Red Ginger. Resilient Lady will spend its first season in the Greek Isles before heading to Australia for the Down Under summer.

Debuting in early 2023, Viking Saturn will have all the features that people love about the line -- included specialty dining, wine and beer at lunch and dinner and at least one shore excursion offered in every port. New cruise ships debut every year, but 2023 looks like a particularly exciting one. In addition to having a huge number of staterooms and suites to pick from, on this ship, you’ll also have a wide array of restaurants and bars to pick between, as you plan your itinerary. Following a similar format to that found on sister ships Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, Carnival Jubilee will be split into six fun zones and will offer lots of new fun alongside Carnival classic venues and activities.

The luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas will launch a new cruise ship, Seven Seas Grandeur, as a third sister ship to Explorer and Splendor. The maiden voyage will be a week-long journey that travels from Venice to Barcelona. You won’t be short on good views on Resilient Lady as 93% of the cabins offer an ocean view and 86% have an outdoor balcony with Yellow Leaf Hammocks. With its home port of Galveston, Texas, Jubilee will have a 5,374 passenger capacity. If you’re interested in which ships are powered by Liquefied Natural Gas, I also have a list of all LNG-powered cruise ships so be sure to check that out. The latest addition to the growing fleet of Viking Ocean Cruises ships, Viking Saturn has been built for Mediterranean and Scandinavian itineraries.

Expect on the 750-passenger, all-suite Seven Seas Grandeur the brand’s signature extravagances such as marble floors, crystal chandeliers, gold leaf here, and expensive art there. Some of the new tech that will help it get there includes Climeon, units that use heat from the ship’s engines to generate a portion of the electricity on board (which decreases fuel demand). The smart bracelet that unlocks passengers’ cabin doors is made of recycled plastic. The Edge-class ships consume 20 percent less fuel when compared to the line’s previous generation of vessels.
